You are overriding the infrared beam sensor when you hold down the wall button continuously while the garage door is closing.
Garage door opener have to hold button down to close.
The wall button and remote work fine for opening door but i have to hold down the wall button to close it.
Wiggle the bracket the eyes are attached to maybe just it is loose or the slightest bit of movement may cause the light to blink.
The transmitters remotes will not work to close the garage door.
